I am new to the forum and have found several post about questions related to the credit portion of the background check. I have different circumstances however and would be curious as to your thoughts.
I am 23 years old and have been employed by the same company for 4.5 years. I have excelled here and have been promoted quickly, however, due to financial problems and a general discontent with my current situation, I decided to move on from my position with this employer. I will however be given a glowing letter of recomendation and many solid references.
My wife and I have two children, both of whom were born when we had no health insurance, and as a result we came on hard times. The trouble began approximately 3 years ago and we did everything we could to avoid bankruptcy but because of wage garnishments we are in the process of loosing our house and have decided to file. I am desperately wanting to persue my dream of becoming a law enforcement officer, however I am extremely nervous about what a fresh bankruptcy will do to my chances of getting into the academy (in Montana).
