I recently met with my BI for an interview, and during a portion of the session she informed me that my previous employer had given her a very negative report on me. I had some difficulties with my former supervisor at that job, and I didn't leave under good circumstances. We discussed the difficulties during the interview, but she didn't give me any feeling of whether or not it was going to be a deal-breaker. She also mentioned that it was the only employer that gave anything other than a favorable recommendation of me. My question to the "G" employees on the board is, how much of an impact does one unfavorable recommendation have on my chances, and does the fact that it was a city police department that gave the reference make it that much worse?
Anyone who'd like the details of my former employment to assist them in offering advice is more than welcome to PM me for an explanation. Thanks in advance guys.
