I just wanted to say thank you to all the members of this board for all the advice given over the years. I do not post very often, but I do stop by and read and usually find my questions answered before I ask.
So, again, thanks everyone!!! With the help of this site and input from my family, I was able to solidify my desire to enter Law Enforcement. As such, I am proud to say that I received notice informing me that I have been hired by the Georgia Tech Police Department along with four other individuals. We report January 5 to Georgia Tech, and then start the academy on January 12, 2009.
This is a great opportunity for me, as I still have to finish my college education, and part of the benefits include going to school for free. I'm very excited and am loving life right now. I'm fortunate that my father is a police officer and will have him as a source of help in this process, along with my roommate who is a member of his department's S.W.A.T. Team.
2008 was a year of ups and downs that definitely took some unexpected turns, but in the end, everything worked out well for me. I hope everyone can say the same at least! Again, thank you everyone for the time and effort you put in on this site and I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! I know I'll be having one!
