With an attitude like that, you are not long for this forum.

Let me tell you something that you are clearly unaware of...

Cops. REAL cops know that small rural policing is just as dangerous as big city policing. Look at the Officer Down Memorial Page sometime, hotshot, and tell me what you see. The occasional cop from LAPD or NYPD, and a lot of cops from smaller departments.

Do you know why that is? It's because MOST cops in the US are from smaller departments. So, the idea you have from movies and TV (which is the only LE experience you have) does not fit with the reality of Real Law Enforcement.

Small town cops get into fights with suspects, make drug arrests, find stolen cars, and send people to prison on Felony Charges.

I work for a small department in Missouri. 18 total sworn officers, 2 square miles (give or take) and about 6,500 residents. I have done all of the above in the last year. I was also around to see 2 cops get shot and a fireman get shot and killed while assisting a nearby department a few months back.

Making fun of small town policing is something that only shows your ignorance of what Law Enforcement is all about. The officers we have here from the NYPD, LAPD, Detroit, DC Metro, etc... don't look down on cops from rural or suburban areas, so you aren't earning "cool points" from them by acting like an arrogant jerk, either.

People like Deputywave and myself are out doing the job you say you want to do. Maybe checking your attitude and learning a little respect would be in order.

Guess he's trying to figure out if they'll find out about his expunged records or not.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

I think it will stay open a bit longer. After all, with Christmas fast approaching, you're the gift that'll keep on giving.

So a perp comes here and wants to know what he can skate by with during the hiring process, then proceeds to belittle working cops? Pretty jacked up if you ask me.

Let's get something straight rookie, any cop who has ever worked the heavy jobs will tell you that things can pop off anywhere, anytime. You however wouldn't be aware of this because you're not on the job. If you were, you wouldn't come here asking some question a real cop could manage in 5 minutes.

Rural America is full of nuts who love their long guns, something no cop should ever have to experience on the fly by themself with just a burner. If you don't respect every street encounter, it's not going to respect you. And cops die because of those complacent mistakes all the time. Or worse, they live and get their partner killed. Your state troopers and small town locals have this threat on a constant basis. Thankfully most of these departments realize the need to equip them with similiar firepower, but that's still little consolation whenever an assault rifle has the drop on you.

But I'm sure you're a big shot zero with no time on who would automatically know what to do and how to react. Keep dreamin Sonny Crockett. There are probably a whole host of reasons why you're a pscyhological misfit, but one thing is obvious- you have a thin shell and a quick fuse, not a good combo for this line of work
