    Toronto police specific

I'm currenlty going through the application process and I'm approaching the medical assessment. My question is - how do the background investigators verify previous medical histories?

No one is going to reveal an investigative method on an open internet forum.

They will find out the whole history, though.

I'm not asking the methods of investigations I just want to know how do they verify medical information, as my doctor would be the only one with detailed information.

You will sign your life away granting your investigator permission to look at everything.

When you signed up for the agency you trying to join you should have signed a medical record release form. Then those records are pulled and reveiwed.

Your doctor(s) and OHIP files are usually reviewed too when you signed the medical consent form.
