    2 Questions on DQ?

    Hi Guys,

My brother and I are both planning on applying at our local PD. The thing is we both have something in our past that was questionable, but a long time ago. I'm 25 and he is 23. When I was 15, i was fired from my first job at Walmart for "larceny" and when he was 16, he got a prostitute in Tijuana.

As long as we are up front about these issues, will this affect our chances of being disqualified?

    Thanks for any answers

IMO they are both going to get you DQ'd or atleast put to the bottom of the list. Then again some time has passed and you were minors. Im sure someone else could give you a better idea of your chances.

Either way just make sure you are up front about this, you may still stand a chance. So dont blow it by lying!

Define " larceny". Did you take a candy bar and get fired ? Or did you heist a VCR and get arrested/fired ? Presuming that in the past 10 years you have had no more blemishes along these lines, I think it is not a DQ offense , just a bruise.

THe prostitute thing will vary based upon the moral terpitude requirements of the dept.

Hopefully your positives will OUTWEIGH your negatives on an app. If they don't , START DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

The prostitute is probably worse than the larceny, and either may be a DQ for some agencies.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.
