    Disqualified?

    Hi Guys!

Today I received my interview with the chief. Before the interview, i was given dates that I will be doing a psy and medical exams.

During the interview, i met with the Chief and the Captain of the dept for about 30 minutes. The chief concluded that she wanted me to complete a background personal history statement packet so she can "see" more about my prior work before she gives the go ahead for the background investigation to be started.

Shortly after I got home, I received a message on my answering machine telling me that my psy and medical exams will be postponed unti the chief reviews my background info.

What really bothers me is the fact that they had future appointments scheduled for me, and they were cancelled after the interview. Does this mean that I'm taking a step backward, perhaps because of what they thought me during the interview? The captain told me after the interview that I did "good," but I know this type of casual statement does not ncessarily reflect anything more.

    I'm very confused.

Hard to say. Keep your chin up, do what they ask, be honest, accept their decisions without doubting as long as your background is good. In this day and age , we must be CAREFUL in the selection process. This is where we look for a potential problem. Sometimes something needs a little clarification. I took tests, for 2 YEARS before I got hired, then , I got 2 offers on the same day.

It seems like they need to "see" more of your background. I don't see you being DQ'd. Usually you fill out a history questionaire during the first steps. In my area a Chief interview is one of the last steps.

Good luck to you and don't give up if you really want it.

Most departments don't set up a med or psy until the background is done. I wouldn't stress too much about it.
And your whiney *** crybaby excuse would be....

Very true, get the info done.

Your gonna need to do it anyway. Just keep a copy of everything. It will make it easier if you need it again.

    Good Luck.
