:confused:Hi, i am an academy graduate and am applying at a sheriffs department in southern california. i have gone through a background process in a so-cal city but was disqualified because i wrote in my background packet that i was involved in a fight when i was 17 and stabbed the guy, he did not die nor from what i heard, was he very seriously injured.Police were called but i was NEVER......EVER contacted about it, the first time i talked to police about it was during my background proccess.
i kinda knew it was over with that so-cal department when i was in the oral interview with the chief and he asked " is there anything in your background that we should be worried about?". i told him about the fight and about my credit, when i told him the name of the person i fought, he started talking to me about how his daughter and the guy i fought were such inseperable friends......i should've just gotten up then and thanked him for his time then instead of believing that he was going to hire a guy that stabbed his daughters best friend.
Anyways, thats why i think i was disqualified from the so-cal department and now am afraid that i will be disqualified from the sheriffs dept. that i just turned my background packet in to because it has the same info in it..........so i guess my question is this: should i be worried about getting disqualified from this sheriff dept. because i have been disqualified from another dept. because of this incident?
there is NOTHING in my past that am affraid to disclose....it is all in the packet i turned in, its when an officer asks why i was disqualified and i answer that it was because i hurt somebody and he says "theres ur problem, you shouldn't have told them" that it gets frustrating. thanks
