I have been considering a career in law enforcement, however, I am not sure if I am eligible. In highschool I did not have a clue or direction in life and I used LSD 3 times as well as smoke pot a few times. It has been almost 8 years since any of that but with the LSD use I don't know if I can even become a police officer.

Use of a hallucinogen multiple times will DQ you from every department I am familiar with. Even those who have standards such that you would qualify would be very difficult to get hired at.

Law Enforcement hiring is competitive in nature. Your competition won't have a mark like that against them.

LSD stays in your system for years. I'm not a molecular biochemist, but my understanding is LSD molecules find a way to trap themselves in your spinal cord and remain dormant, this coming from a doc at a drug seminar and the magic number I keep remembering was 9 years. Anyway, at some point there is a possibility the molecules will reactivate and you will "trip". He mentioned a case where an undercover did LSD in the course of an investigation, and his department ended up medically resigning him off the job because of the remission factor- something that would be a reasonable liability if the trip occurred while the guy was performing a police function in the future. Not only is it a socially unacceptable drug for this profession, it is a physical hazard that no department will take a risk on

No, I am sorry you don't. If I may ask a question though, what in gods name would drive someone to do LSD? I would be afraid to death to try that.
