Double majors help? College roommates smoking pot?

[I have edited this post to prevent spamming multiple threads, thanks]

Hello, I am wondering if graduating with a double major at a 4-year University will make a difference in my chances for hire in LE, or if it has no significant impact (compared to graduating with a SINGLE major).

    (New question):
Last year, I lived off campus (college) with a couple old high school friends. They never really smoked pot until they settled into the house and had a subgroup of other friends who sold them drugs and smoked weed for leisure.

I, on the other hand, never touched that stuff, and they respected my decision to avoid being near drugs or being near them when they smoked (obviously for my future aspiration in LE). I had to endure this type of situation for an entire school year.

I did not want to associate myself with them anymore, and sacrificed my friendships with them by moving out a year later. I now live with another friend who is not a weed/drug addict.

My concern is whether or not my hiring chances are dented due to my association with those friends (or now, ex-friends).

    Thanks everyone.

A little but probably not a whole lot. It's going to qualify you for any local opening, but that doesn't make your resume jump out at a panel or processing department. I know several college educated people who were/are awful cops, and I know a lot who make great cops. On the other hand, I know several great cops who were academically some of the dumbest individuals I've met. They come in all shapes, and veteren cops will look at that.
A hiring panel is going to check off the education box, ask you maybe 1 question about why you received 2 degrees, and that'll be the end of it. They're going to want to know more about your decision making skills and character before they offer you a job.

I doubt it. Few depts even care what you have one major in, all they want is the degree. We had a little fat white captain with a PhD in East African Studies........ Seriously....
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
