past failure of oral psych eval

a few months ago i failed the psych interview for a leo job. i am a very honest person so i told the truth about everything. my past is not great, i used to be a pot head stole a couple times i have 8 traffic tickets etc... i was just wondering if other agencies can get the results of this past interview or any of the other information i gave out during the application process?

Yes, they can. A lot of people fail a psych for one department and pass another. This depends on what they are looking for in certain departments.

As in pothead , how long and often did you use? How long ago?
what did you steal a few times? (dollar amount) how long ago?

Well that also depends on the agency. I also failed a psych and then passed for another agency but i was placed on a hold because the agency i failed the psych for refused to release why i failed to me or to the agency i was applying for. Even when i was at the appeal for the agency i failed for i was asked why i have not been hired and i told them because they are waiting for paper work from you. 1 of the interviewers from the board was shocked and upset when he thought I said they had paper work from them. The other interviewer assured him the only send the test score and how far i got in the processs. Anyway everything asked on the psych was pretty much asked on the BI for the agency i was DQ'd at, and that i know they can get a hold of.


Anyway the way you seem to be asking this question is implying that you plan on lying next time. Do your self a favor and don't because even if you do get hired it is something that will haunt you forever. Then again if you dont have the integrity to be honest then maybe thats what you deserve. (Not targeting you, just saying if you were thinking of lying)

Your background puts you at a distinct disadvantage over most candidates. You either need to live/act like Mother Theresa did for a few years or you are going to be wearing the blue vest with the smiley on it for a long time.

thanks for all your help. no i dont plan on lying the next time around i was just curious. i currently have my case for the nypd on hold due to military leave, and they say i have up to 4 yrs to restart from where we left off which the next step is a pych exam/eval. so do u think i would be better off doing my military thing for about a yr or 2 and reinstating my case because if i stay out of trouble for that amount of time my past wont be looked at as negatively?
