I would like to preface this post, by saying that I would NEVER consider lying on a police or any job application.
As you can probably tell by my signature, I am getting ready to begin the police application process. Recently, I have been discussing this process with people I know, and I am almost shocked at the number of people who tell me to lie on the application, especially in regards to past injuries and medication. What makes it even more shocking is that these people are either retired police officers or professionals in the medical field. It seems like their line of reasoning is "If you don't tell, they won't find out, but if you do, it is an unnessecary inconvienence." Plus, the implication I seem to be getting from some of the retired officers is that the background check is not as thorough as it is made out to be and that things can be hidden from them.
Like I said earlier, I refuse to follow this advice and tell them that it can be found out, and I am not risking a perm. DQ for lying on the application
