Who Can I Call?

Here's my issue...i took the walk-in NYPD exam back in mid-August. We are well into November and I haven't received anything from them yet (more specifically a date for the medical). However, I have read on other forums that people took the test in September, and already did their medical in October. Who can I call to see what's going on? I called APD, but they were very unhelpful.

I know for a fact that my 100 officer department has a long and difficult hiring process. When I think of the NYPD, I'd bet being patient is the best thing. A giant department is probably slower at sorting through applicants.

When I took it I received my score on a piece of paper in the mail about 2 weeks later. Upon leaving they gave us a background packet. I then received a letter weekly wanting me to schedule the JST medical and all that stuff. What was you score? If you passed, go to the website and look up the recruiting phone number. That is whom you need to talk to.

After researching, I found out that I have up to 4 years to get all my other stuff done with them. Not saying its good to wait, but candidates out of state are given some time. It stated that you are retained on a police officers hiring list. I get a letter still usually every month, but At this point it would be to hard to move and such.If nothing in Michigan fell through that would be the place I would go to though.

Edit: add: I am not sure what is ahead for the NYPD, I know that want recruits, but they just cancelled the 09 academy jan.

BTW the january class was postponed until july 09.
