Just passed NJ Transit PT Test today.

After passing the NJ TRANSIT Police written test in November, today I took and DOMINATED the PT test!

It was a bit discouraging, though, to see at least 200 people there. Unless there are like , 20 openings, it's gonna be a fight to the finish to get hired. This is the time when I start sweating my less than perfect background, consisting of 2 underages and an open container. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me, until it starts coming down to the wire and the dreaded background check phase comes up:cool:

    dude,seriously......

Metallicat......see my message to you in "ASK A COP", -"Mistake on Ticket"

Let me reiterate my points to you, since you seem a little slow...

    1. You don't know me, so don't try to judge me.

    2. I don't know you, but you seem like a jerkoff.

    3. I don't care about anything you have to say.

    4. Your opinions matter less to me than a pile of dog **** on the sidewalk, which hopefully, like you, will dry up and blow away.

    5. Last, and most important, since you seem to live to get in little "flame wars" online, unless you have something intelligent to say to me, I am not going to waste my time replying to you anymore. Unfortunately, for every person worth talking to on this forum, there is always one like you. Stop whining and smarten up....the ideas I presented about background checks and whatever else in whatever thread I posted a month or two ago were meant to promote some intelligent debates.....it's too bad clowns like you have to chime in. It appears you are incapable of any worthwhile communication.

Intelligent debates? I ask this of the other members on this site, does someone saying this, sound like someone who should be a cop?:

"So, if you wanna be a cop.....

    1. Do you have any relatives/close freinds working for any PD's?

    2. Are you confident that your past won't be found out?

    3. Do you think you have the required skills and the right motivation to work in law enforcement, or did you think you could just "walk into it"?"

In #1, he implied getting in with family or friend connections, and in #2 he implied lying about his rampant drug use to get a job as a cop. Yeah, that sounds like a cop I would want to deal with. That shows no ethics at all.

What are you like writing this **** down or something? You know more about what I said than I do!!!

If you let this kind of **** get to you, then you're just too high strung. Get over it and move on.

easy now. show everyone here how good of a cop you will be and take criticism and either learn from it and let it pass. i would like to make a correction. you said the post was "a month or two ago" and it was only 2 1/2 or 3 weeks old. also i don't think you should bad mouth metallicat about being online as you are here too. metallicat brings new ideas to the table and therefore is a valuable member to RP.

as far as you go with me siberianexpress, i don't agree with what advised that "crack attict" to do in the other thread. that was bad advice. however, i don't necessarily think those values and scenarios apply to you so i don't think you are a bad guy. seriously, if you stay honest in the background check im sure you will be successful with goals. good luck.

Siberian, did you disclose all/any of your drug history on your information packet? I really hope you did otherwise your background check will find out about it.

Not picking sides here, just wondering

This issue wasn't about his past drug use. For all I know, he is clean in every aspect of drugs, but he basically told another member to either hide his past use of drugs or hope to get in on connections.

    Just being real....

The guy who used every drug known to man, and now wants to be a cop wanted an honest opinion about his chances of being a cop. I gave him one. From personal observation, I know people who were involved heavily with drugs who were either hired or close to being hired in a few of my local PD's. On a different level, a person with a pending/open case having something to do with being involved indirectly with a drug related murder got a job as a CO.I won't go in to details, because for all I know those same people are members of this forum. For the record, I didn't get angry at metallicat just because he disagreed with me, it was because he just keeps trying to pass out judgements based on posts, and he tries to make it personal, saying he hopes I don't get hired, for the sake of the public I should be turned away, etc. I'm not an *******, I'm just obligated to defend myself. Whether a person has 5000 posts or 1, has donated to the site or has yet to do so, they should be prepared to answer to any posts the same as if we were talking face to face. I don't really take any of this personally or seriously. It's just annoying to try to get a serious reply to a traffic ticket question and have the same guy calling me a liar and saying I'm just trying to make the police look bad.Just because somebody is 1000's of miles away, and we will not meet face to face ever, does not mean people don't get irritated.

    Later.
