    Painting a bad picture?

    Hi to all,

I am in the background with the ca dept of corrections. My background investigator has all my paperwork and reference letters are trickling back in to him since they arrived this past Friday. Today I looking through my credit report I had sent him with my PHS and noticed an address that I have never resided at, different variations of my name ( missing letter, or misspelled last name ) and two socials similiar to mine but with one or two wrong numbers added. I called my investigator and left him a message. He called me back asked that I put it in writing and mail it in to him explaining in detail that I did not know where or how that info was placed in my credit report.

My question is whether I look bad for not disclosing this info earlier? I don't know how this info made it onto my report and I know that EVERYTHING should be disclosed whether error or not? Should I have been thorough at the earlier stage of my background? Thanks

You should have gone through your credit report and reviewed everything before you submitted it. I dontthink it will hurt you so much if its true your not that person on the report and you didnt live at those addresses. I would be concerned though that your assoicated with these people on paper. Check your credit history and clear up the misunderstandings, it will impact more then your job hunting.

Contact the Big 3 credit reporters also, they can help.

I've contacted the credit bureaus and had the information removed. As far as my association with the names listed....the names are more misspellings of my name. Some have a letter missing or a shortened version of my last name. They are not different names or aka's. I did review my credit report prior to submitting it, but since I saw these as "errors" from the credit bureau side I did put much thought into it. I just started dwelling and began thinking " what if the bi doesn't see them as errors ". So the phone call to the bi was made and the request to put it in writing . Is there a way that the investigator can verify that these in fact are "errors"?
