The NYPD website states the following for been disqualify from joining
- Any conviction of an offense which is punishable by one or more years imprisonment (felony).
- Any repeated convictions of an offense which indicate a disrespect for the law, a lack of good moral character or disposition towards violence and disorder.
My question is...
I would like to apply to join the NYPD, but I am concerned about the following.
In my abstract, it shows several moving violations. That include, like 3 suspended licenses, 2-3 speeding tickets (the last one was 3 years ago).
PS- I got arrest once in Queens, because I had a warrant from 2001 because of an equipment violation (muffler). I did not pay the ticket(I forgot).
I spend a night in jail, saw the judge, she dismissed it and let me go the day.
Other than that, that's pretty much the only thing I have in my record.
I haven't been convicted of stealing or credit card fraud or anything a criminal will do. I don't think I'm a bad guy.
The only bad thing I guess is my driving record.
So is my driving record consider,
- Any repeated convictions of an offense which indicate a disrespect for the law, a lack of good moral character or disposition towards violence and disorder. ?
Can I still qualify?
Thanks a lot for the help.
