Hiring update.

Well folks, it looks like it wasn't my time to get hired. Technically it was an emergency hire and they needed someone quickly. They told me that there was nothing wrong with my abilities, but they were really looking at the people already certified through the state (already gone through academy) and there were a handful already in LE. Which stinks, but at least I know it wasn't any fault of my own. They did what was best for the dept. and, honestly, I would have done the same thing given the situation. If you need someone ASAP, you aren't going to hire someone that you have to send to academy for 12 weeks if there is someone already certified with the same or better qualification that the non-certified person has. They started with 57 applicants for 2 positions and I was part of the final 15. I scored 4th highest on the written and passed every other part without a problem. I can do it again when the time comes. Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement.

Thanks. Florence Police IMO is the best to work for in about a 60 mile radius. THere are several departements in this area (5) and Florence has the best pay, benefits, equipment and etc. It is greatly easier to ge ton with Sheffield and then get hired with Florence. I think that may be the path I need to take. I won't give up, this is what I want to do.
