i was guaranteed a spot in the next academy

ok here is the story. i applied for the kern county sheriff's department last january, past everything, had a slot in the july academy and i injured my ankle. so my BI told me that i have a slot in the january academy. i know for sure that there will be another academy in january but should i be worried at all about my slot? i trust my BI and the senior deputy that i was working with at the time, but has anyone seen this happen before? i am just curious if there would be any reason for me to worry about losing my slot for some reason.

It is my experience that there are few guarantees in life. Unless you have it in writing, do not bank on anything.

Also, since you can apparently type "BI" with caps, what is the deal with you not hitting the cap button anywhere else? UNLESS you just think it is cool (which few here do), I would be more worried about your writing skills than anything else.

Who knows what could happen in January. They might cancel the class due to budget constraints for all we know. What's the purpose of your question? If you're asking if you should drop out of the application process for other agenices you're processing with, I'd say no.
