mistakes as a teenager?

When I was 16 I had a drug charge. I'm 24 now have never been near the stuff again. Do I still have a chance of becoming an officer?

Under the influence I believe was the charge and drug paraphernalia . I plead guilty and I had to got into a program called dap. I was told when I completed the program my record would be expunged . The drug was exstasy

Any synthetic drug will DQ you from my dept. Marijuana a few times can be overlooked, possibly ONE cocaine if everything else is pretty spectacular. But no LSD, Ecstasy or designer drug at all.

I know of none that's government law enforcement. Maybe a clerk for some police dept., but that's about it.

Sorry for the slight threadjack, but I'm honestly curious; how is it that this guy's drug stuff is considered worse than the sexual stuff described in some of the other recent threads in here? They seems about equally morally bad, and like they'd indicate (or not indicate) about the same level of flawed-ness, character-wise.

The problem with synthetic drugs is the possibility of flashbacks for one thing. Also those drugs can do permanent damage to the brain. Not too mention, it's particularly stupid to play with that sort of drug. We sometimes have to shoot and kill people spacing out on Ecstasy. No drug, including alcohol is a good idea, but some go off the scale. If you ever want to be a cop, you should have enough sense to leave those alone.

The threads "Will this be enough to kill my chances?" and "Do I have a snowball's chance in...." were the two I was thinking of. One guy had pictures, the other had inappropriate contact with his sister.

I see no problem with snowball at all. Kill chances, I really don't know. I have no idea if his will be looked at as molestation or juvenile sexual experimentation. :confused:
