    Car Accidents?

I was just curious how seriously car accidents are looked at as a standard of being hired??

I would imagine that speeding tickets and moving violations would be looked at worse.

Just as a reference I'm taking about NYPD, westchester, rockland and Mount Vernon.

My record is pretty clean, no speeding or other moving violations in at least 5 years and 1 car accident, that happen to occur last year. No claims or injuries and the damage to either car was not much. A police officer just happen to witness that accident and I guess they then have to write a report.

I would think that it shouldn't be a problem, right?

It depends on what you were doing right before the accident occurred. If you give a description of the accident and list any tickets you may have recieved because of the accident we will be better able to answer your question.

    +1 to above

    Can you give more information?

    How many?
    How long ago?
    Who was found at fault?
Were there any citations issued or even arrests made?

Getting into one fender bender a few years ago probably would not be an issue, accidents, and even more so multiple accidents, resulting from speed or other careless driving may be.

it was only one accident in December 2007. I actually don't know who was deemed at fault because I never went to go get the accident, although I will this weekend.

No tickets or citations were issued at the time of the accident.

A cop was waiting at a stop sign to wait for people to run it. I stopped at that stop sign, looked both ways and proceeded west. The north and south lanes were divided by a big island with trees and bushes. As i went across the lanes I did not see anyone and out of no where a woman traveling south hit my passenger side door.

The cop was obviously already there, although I don't think she saw the accident because she was also blocked by these bush in between the intersection.

We both decided that there had no been that much damage to either vehicle and we both went on our way.

Was there a police report filed at all? It doesn't seem like it, but what do you mean when you said you would go get the accident?

a police report WAS filed and the accident shows up on my drivers license abstract from the DMV.

I still have the accident report information and I could go down to the local precinct to pick up the report.

If hat incident is the biggest concern you have than you shouldn't have a problem.

yeah that is my biggest issue.

The only other things were I had a two speeding tickets. One was about 5 years ago and another one was about 11 years ago.

My work history may be found to be a little sketchy as i have had about 8 jobs in 11 years. I was in sales, so there was a lot of movement from company to company.

And i jumped a turnstile when I was 17, about 10 years ago, and received a summons for $65.

Although I do have a bachelors degree in criminal justice and about 1 1/2 years of Law School education.

Overall I think that I would be a good candidate.

If the accident occured over 30 days ago (which it did), you may have to send away to DMV to get a copy.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.
