My traffic record isn't perfect--I've got one ticket for speeding (from 1994), and two for no insurance (one from 1996, and the other from 2002). In both of the insurance cases, I had an accident with no insurance after letting my insurance lap for a month or less. But, I paid off the damages on both cases, and besides that...my driving record is clean except for very minor stuff like a few parking tickets.
My credit isn't great, but I'm completely debt free as of now. I had a couple of small judgements, and had a couple of accounts (credit cards) turned over to collections, but I worked my tail off and paid off everything.
I've never had a problem with drugs or alchohol or domestic violence, or any of that. And my record on the job was clean--the only suspensions I ever had was one three-day bit for misconduct, and a couple for calling in sick with no medical time.
What are my chances of getting back on with a department in my new home state?
5 years ago= 2003
10 years of service= beginning your LE career in 1993.
That means that WHILE YOU WERE A COP, you got a speeding ticket and had two uninsured accidents.
That does not bode well.
Citocop.
