Nitrous Oxide?

Hey everyone! So i just passed my written and pat and have my oral tomorrow. To make a long story short I tried Nitrous oxide once 8 years ago when I was a senior in high school, I also smoked pot twice. I have a bachelors now and have been straight since. Just curious if anyone knows what the deal with nitrous is!?! I couldn't have been more stupid to try something such as this but what's done is done. Just wondering if this is considered a hard drug or an automatic dq?

On my background they specifically ask about nitrous. If they don't on your background they may on your polygraph or psych questionnaire. Just be honest.

As long as it was an isolated event I wouldn't worry about it. Still, you'll be asked about the abuse of drugs during your background and polygraph. There definitely will be specific questions about certain drugs, but there will also be blanket questions about other drugs or substances you have used to get high. As long as you disclose and don't try to hide it, I don't think it will hurt your chances of being hired.

I didn't know you could get high off of nitrous oxide... Learn something new everyday....

Nitrous oxide is laughing gas. It restricts oxygen to the brain. In small amounts it makes you giggly but in higher amounts it can send you into a coma or even kill you. It's not used in hospitals for a general anesthesia though.

This stuff is nasty, it kills brain cells. Huffers, don't understand them. But nitrous, whippets, poppers= not good.
