Hi everyone:

I'd appreciate some help on a background question I have. I am asking on behalf of a friend applying for a local police department. I'll relay any info I learn from here to him.

He wants to know what type of shot he has. First the positives
1. College graduate with a BS and a GPA of 3.4 or higher
2. Just got accepted into a master's program for his MBA
3. Never been arrest or in trouble
4. Never partied, drank or have experimented with an types of drugs

Negatives
He was quite embarassed about this but two have to do with porn.
1. First one a legal porn site and found out the girl he was talking to was 17, immediately ended the conversation and left
2. This is kind of screwed up but he said once when he was 18 or 19 was curious and looked up incest porn once and only once, he is now 22. Obviously not with children but consenting adults, he just figured they were actors or something I guess.
3. Did someone street racing when he was younger
4. He told me that he didnt handle his ex-girlfriends break up with him that well. He never threatened her or anything but they tried to be friends and he thought they would have a chance to get together again and texted and called her way way too much and tried to talk to her school even when many of times she didnt want him to.

"He" is very embarrassed about the pornography issues, but not embarrassed enough for "him" to tell "you" all about them so you can post an anonymous message on "his" behalf on the Internet?

Anyway...

YOUR background doesn't sound terrible (but street racing certainly will be a red flag), although with the ex-girlfriend and porn issues I don't know if I can say that you'd do very well on the psych exam.

If your "friend" doesn't have the backbone to ask the questions himself, I wouldn't hire him. Otherwise the background looks okay.
