    Backround questions

I just graduated college with my bachlors degree and am starting to apply to a few departmments. I was wondering how my backround looks and if theres anything serious that would possibly DQ me.

    Good:
    1. Good job references
    2. Good driving record (no convictions) and no arrests
    3. No accidents
    4. Law enforcement internships with good standings

    Not so Good:
    1. Experimented with marajuana twice, early summer of 2004 being the last time I used.
    2. Stole about $2-3 worth or plastics lures from a sporting good store around the age of 11-12.
    3. Have taken small things from friends and a babysitter at an early age. Any where from 9-12 years old. This includes small toys and accessories, some money, sports cards.
    4. At 15 I received a stolen calculator that a friend took from a guy at school. Which I turned around and traded to another guy at school for a discman.
    5. I honestly dont beleive I was intoxicated, but I have driven a view times after having 2 beers tops after work or while eating dinner.
    6. From about 15 till I was 17 or 18 I was involved in the street racing scene. I never raced with them, just went out with a few friends to watch. We would meet up and have a car show then head to some part of the feeder road or a commericial district and watch someone race.

I know I have done a few things I am not proud of. However I beleive that most of the stupid stuff I have done was in the past and I have grown and matured out of it.

You've done some immature stuff, but nothing worse than many your age at the time you did them. Overall I think you'll be okay if you're honest and don't still use MJ or drive Fast and the Furious style. One point I will make on your post:

honestly dont beleive I was intoxicated, but I have driven a view times after having 2 beers tops after work or while eating dinner.
Don't tap dance around this issue. If you were intoxicated, fess up. It was dumb, but trying to hide it won't get you a job as a cop. However, if you were not intoxicated (and you'd know if you were not, as being buzzed or drunk is a totally different perception than sober) you've not nothing to worry about. Drinks are sold at resturaunts, and it's common practice to have a drink or two with a meal and drive home. However, if 2 drinks gets you drunk (and different people have different tolerances), that's a different story, as you're responsible for being in control of your vehicle.

Thank you for the reply ROS. On the drinking and driving part. I have been drunk in my life, but I can say that I have never been behind the wheel in that state. I have however been buzzed and relaxed while driving. Not sure if they frown to much upon that. Even that though was a pretty rare occurance.

What i meant to say was no arrests, the no conviction applies to the driving record. I got 3 tickets one night which were soon dismissed.
