I am 35 years old. When I was around 23 I received a wreckless driving ticket. Plead guilty and paid a $500 fine. I believe the wreckless is a class B misdemeanor here in Arkansas. 3 months later I got stopped for doing 100 MPH on the freeway and got charged with wreckless driving. I plead not guilty and received a court date. At that time I somehow thought I could argue the case that I was speeding. I go to court and the officer does not appear. The wreckless is reduced to speeding and I pay a $150 or so dollar fine. I was immature and a bit of a hotrod at that time and yes these incidents were stupid. Since then I have been straight as an arrow and drive in a good safe manner. No hurry to get anywhere. Knock on wood, I would like to add that I have never been involved in any type of automobile accident.
I have only worked 2 different jobs in my lifetime and only have about 30 hours of college credit. From what I have read on this forum it looks like I would be pretty far down the list of being picked at any given agency. Given the preference for military experience and college degrees.
Currently I am considering enlisting in the army and will try to take any and all classes that I can. Of course that may not happen if a person ends up in a war zone. I am initially leaning towards MP, but I have not fully researched everything out. I have read some of the pros and cons of being an MP and different police agencies attitude towards them.
What do you guys think??
