What is the written psych test?

Im scheduled for a written psychological exam next Monday morning(08/11/08) for the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. How can I prepare for this? I'm also scheduled for the polygragh exam a week later. Thanks

There's no way to "prepare" for a psych test. Show up, dress nice, be polite, be truthful, and relax.

Same goes for the polygraph.

You ALREADY prepared just by living your entire life ( so far).

Now comes the test that will show who and what you are. You can't study or change for this test. Dress nice, look good, be polite and do your best. You're either a psycho or you aren't. ")

That's kind of what I thought. I just wanted to make sure. Im trying to be prepared as much as possible for each step. Thank you

Also, if you try to change how you really feel on the test, trying not to "sound like a psycho", the more psycho you look when the test is graded.

the test is wierd. mine was 2 diffrent test totaling about 900 or more ??'s. the ??'s range from, " did you like the book alice in wonderland by...?" to are you fascinated by fire, scared of water, did you love your mom, etc.

There are many different tests. It all depends on the agency. I took one that lasted less than an hour and I few days later I took one for a different department that took 5 - 6 hours :eek: (that was a long day) That department gavse several tests that ended up being 2000+ questions.

I hope it's not 5-6 hours long. That would suck because they charge a dollar per half hour of parking where I have to park let alone taking a day off work for this. Im excited to get further along in the process though. That comes out to about $212 to take the test:( Oh well, here's for my future career.
