Thanks for the replys. So what your telling me is I probably can't become a maryland trooper.

From an applicant who has done the process and getting ready to join the academy I can say (from what I have seen and experienced) that they will DQ you out of the process during the first Orientation Meeting.

Maryland asks for "any and all" when it relates to questions that they ask. Your best bet, to be certain, would be to call the recruitment section and get a solid answer before scheduling an orientation meeting, they will be able to give you a definitive answer to your question. I can only guess at what would happen given the large amount of candidates that are seemingly dismissed from the process right out of the gate.

hey whats going on everyone.
i just have a quick ?.....i was in the hiring process w/a police department n upstate ny, but was dq'd for failing the polygraph. the ? i failed was, "did you lie about any of your past drug history?"...i said no, but the polygraph read deception. in all honesty,i was completely truthful. i never sold drugs and smoked marijuana once, but i think wut tripped me up was that fact that i have an older bro who sells................but anyways, i just wntd to give a lil background of my sit. and my ? is would this dq also dq me from the process with the nypd....jan 09 hopeful (i'm going to take my letter telling my reason for being dq'd w/me when i go for processing)

any feedback would b much appreciated, thanks a lot

Being DQ'd by another agency will not, by itself, automatically knock you out of the running for the NYPD. Whether or not it should is a question for another thread.

On another note, what do you do with all the time you save by typing '?' instead of 'question'? That must add up to, like, seconds a year. Srsly.
