NYPD hopeful....

Hello all,

I have a question about my interest in pursuing the NYPD application form, for HOPEFUL 2009 academy acceptance!Let mealso state that law enforcement has always been a high interest of mine, but I never believed myself responsible enough for the commitment. Now I feel mature enough to follow that dream and take action with my future.
I am a 25 year old female, graduated with a BA in May 2007, no prior drug use, clean driving record...ect. My only qualm is that my first job out of college (worked at a HUGE international magazine house)...ended in a funky situation. I was employed by them from May 2007 until December 2007. I left there because I did not want to continue investing my time in a career that I did not want to grow with. It ended extremely mutually and they offered me unemployment. The thing is they said I was "terminated" so I could get it. Even though it was mutual. I know that this looks bad on my end, and theirs.

Please advise...any input is greatly appreciated.

Its a blemish but not a show stopper. If your old boss is willing to explain the situation to them or you can get a letter from them stating the same you will be good.

My guess is you will be put on some kind of review until they can clear it up. Maybe i am wrong you may be able to just skate by but from what i have seen from applicants on here and friends of mine job terminations tend to lead to a review. Review doesnt mean you will not get in but they are very stressfull because it is hard to get a answer of what is going on with your case. Good luck
