I have worked with a guy in the Marshals Service who has tourettes. He seemed to do just fine. In fact, he would be on my short list of people who I would work with, no questions asked, no matter what the mission. He's better than most with whom I have had the pleasure to work.
So, while I cannot speak for every department, I can say that a man with tourettes was able to get hired onto a federal 1811 position, which is far more competitive than most local LE positions. He also had local LE experience.
