    I don't believe that would be employee theft. I think I would label that fraud.

    You worked 1 day when you were supposed to work 4. Yes, that is stealing from your company. Unless they told you, "finish this in however long it takes you" and you finished before schedule, if you were paid per day it was theft from your employer.
