Trying t oget this back on track, I was hired by a federal agency after being fired, and in a position similar to the one I was in at the place I was fired from. Also the manager that fired me to cover his own ***, was fired for trying the same thing again. I'm not sure how far into the background they check, but I hope they can uncover that. Also anyone that works at that store still from that day will vouch for me based on what happened.

I got asked to resign from a job once. 4 years later I do the same job for a different employer, and they love me. I was up front about it when I submitted my application, and the department still had interest in me.

I'm hoping that time + lasik will help me get a LEO position in the future. I know I'd make more money with what I'm doing now, but I would rather live my dream, and have a job that's fulfilling.

PS: I'm not a moderator, but you guys should try to be nicer to each other. Isn't this forum for providing a way for police and civilians to interact in a CIVIL manner? I don't need to be the author of a thread that starts a flame war. ;)

People who've been here a while are nice to each other, even when they disagree. A problem arises when someone brand new asks a question, dislikes the disappointing answer, and starts making rude comments to long standing members. Personally, I think it is not acceptable to behave like that or to allow that behavior to continue without criticism. It is unfortunate that the person responsible for derailing your thread didn't just start his own.

I think you may want to start a new unpolluted troll-free thread to take care of any unanswered questions you may still have.

That's a good idea. I used to be a forum administrator for a computer repair support site, and it was tough to keep an eye on spammers, and rude members. I think my questions have been answered as far as this thread goes. At this point, it's mostly a wait, and pray type thing I think. I've learned from my mistakes, and I'm very careful with who I associate with. Plus I've also read quite a bit of NYS Penal Law so I know when an idiot is telling me I can have something, when I can't now ;)
