    Requesting advice on application

Okay, here's the problem. I have a discharge in my employment history (volunteer position). On several of the applications that I've filled out, it is asked if I had ever been discharged or asked to resign in lieu of being discharged from any position. In a lot of cases there is only two lines to give such information. I believe there are some mitigating factors in the discharge and it's difficult to fit it in the two line alloted space. I ended up filling in that I was discharged for personality reasons. However, that could mean a lot of things. Anyway I have received several rejection letters many of which I attribute to this.

Oh, and the discharge. I was fired as a volunteer from a parole and probation office because I apparently stared at people (on more than one occasion). I'm not saying that I didn't do it, but I don't remember doing it and had no intention of offending anybody. Nobody informed me of this prior, no investigation was conducted, nobody counseled me on anything. The total time I was in this postion was two months.

any advise I could get on this issue would be much appreciated.
