    Family History...

I have a clean history, not even a speeding ticket. I do have cousins aunts and uncles that are the exact opposite. They have the same last name as me and have charges of:
    assualt on leo
    grand larceny
    check fraud
    possession with intent to sell

Could there problems become one of mine?

As has been stated before, you can choose your friends but not your family. If you were voluntarily associating yourself with loser friends like that, you would have an issue. since they are your family, however, you do not have much of an option in matter.

I would suggest limiting the amount of time you spent hanging out at the house of the person who got busted for p/its, though. :p

Poople huh? Cant choose family as stated above but it will cause an issue if you want to work in the jail a relative is incarcerated in. I am sure they would keep you segregated but I cant say for sure.

Why on earth would you want to be in the same jail as your brother? That is a big safety violation. What happens when the inmates find out he's the brother of a CO? What a great way to strike a blow against the system! Why not another jail in the same county, so you don't endanger your brother?

its a county jail. Im not necessary trying to get in that jail but there is only two in the county. Also when I took the test my brother wasnt in there and if I got hired he wouldnt be there. Its not that bad here I know alot of cos and theirs not much going on. Trust me it would be embarassing and hurtful but im not going to let my brothers stupidity ruin my career dreams, he chose his path and now im choosing mine.

Well you did not state that if hired your brother would no longer be incarcerated by that time. Also your county jail is not the ONLY jail you work in to be a C.O. Not only is it a danger for your brother its a danger for YOU to be in the same jail.

Also I am sure you can talk to plenty of people, County jails arent exactly a picnic to work in. They will encounter alot of the same problems as their state and federal level facilities just maybe on a slightly smaller scale.

Where do you think murders, rapist, arsonist, people who committ serious assualts are held while pending and through their trials??

    Either way good luck.
