To answer this one properly, I need a little more information.
A snout has told me he's got a set of nostrils, so go and get a W so we can spin his drum to see if he's got any monkey gear - The Sweeney.

I think the original was erased...........
Intesting question, I have never seen such a lack of wording formed into a query.![]()
Creeper Cop
Maybe, maybe not..........simple question about a complicated situation.
Write out a nice paragraph or two about the circumstances and try it again.
i think you will be ok. if there are some circumstances to it though, like if your friend was a coworker and he stole something from the place of employment it may hurt. thats the best i can help you.Originally posted by soulhydration
Ok would recieving stolden property with the value of about 15-20 dollars disqualify me? I knew was stolen, I knew the owner and I knew who took it. I also know it was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. This took place 6 years ago when I was 15 and when I apply it will be 10 years.
Do you think that could diqualify me?

The acid thing might hurt you. The other things will be taken in the context of the time and the fact you were a minor and never charged or convicted of any offense.
yahcanmicrowave is correct, i believe. when we are 15 yoa we do some dumb stuff. its all apart of the learning process and growing up. i remember when i was 5 yoa i took a handful of candy and put it in my pocket when i was at the store with my family. my parents caught me eating it in the car (and i got my a** whooped!). anyway, at that age i couldn't fully comprehend exactly how bad of a thing i was doing. for the drinking and driving thing, it not only looks bad because you were underage drinking but also driving. this offense is a lot more harmful than a lot of people think it is. so i don't know if that will get you. since it was a few years ago i wouldn't stress on it too much. pot use seems like it will be an ok amount as long as it hasn't been to recent (1-3 years). i am almost sure the acid situation is your biggest roadblock. click on the links below for drug dq info. i think it might help.
i am kind of carious as to whether it makes a difference whether the drug you used was fake or not, if you think that it is real and give it a go. maybe someone can answer that because i am carious if that counts. here are the links:

I have seen a couple of people link Butte Counties rules on this board. No offense, but Butte County is about the smallest and most conservative counties in CA and is not really what you would call the pace maker for the state. Check out the quals and disquals for LA, San Diego, San Francisco, Alameda and Santa Clara Counties. These are more indictive of what is acceptable or not.
Don't try and worry about whether or not you made entry in to the shed and only served as a lookout.....you were involved in conspiracy setting to commit a Burglary and theft.
You were young and it was to a shed........hopefully you learned.
The DUI part is immatturity and stupidity.......see above.
The acid part is an area of concern......you would remember a trip, but don't leave that part out.
This is just 2 sections in your background.........just a sliver of who you are....other areas could help you or hurt you more...
just out of cariousity, for those who have some knowledge in b.i., would soulhydration's background be considered good, mediocre, or bad compared to most/a lot of applicants and also compared to acceptable standards?
I assisted in a background investigation once. I would say that his background, minus possibly the acid trip, wouldn't be that big of a deal. If it were, I suspect that half of our department wouldn't be employed right now (me included). Acid is another beast altogether. Some departments look down on that type of activity to a larger degree. I would apply anyway and be as honest as I could be. The worst that could happen is that you could get turned down.
One of my current instructors used to do BI's for San Jose PD. He said that the one and only drug that would disqualify you for life from that department is PCP. Once is all you need, and it never leaves your system.
I know I've heard that Acid also never leavesw your system, but people brought that up with him. What did he say? see above!
