Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
- Winston Churchill
I don't think acid you dropped years ago will show up on a drug test. In fact I know it won't. Just chill out and don't worry so much about your past. About your buying stolen property, many people have bought things from "freinds" that were hot. It doesn't make you a bad person. Just don't use anyone for a reference that you bought "borrowed" property from![]()
The past is gone. Mistakes are made. Focus on the present and becoming the best candidate you can, and prove to your prospective department that YOU are the man for the job.
The fact that you wanted to try acid says something about your character to the BI.
I know quite a few people who have done acid, and most of them didn't have a reaction the first time either.
Just understand that you did wrong on both accounts (stealing/druggin') - which you have admitted, and let the BI know it was stupidity and you understand it was a big mistake.
Just be honest. They are going to ask you why. So be prepared to answer the questions.
Good luck!
Drive it, Like you stole it!!
When you say you were a "lookout, and did not enter the shed" if you were in Michigan, that wouldnt matter. Lookout is as good as the principal (person comitting the crime). You would be charged with the same offense. B&E and Entry w/o permission for the both of you.

I have HUGE problems with this. Your characterization that "many" people have purchased stolen property is not only a poor attempt to minimize poor character and lack of ethics, but it is also wrong.Originally posted by siberianexpress

A thief, or even one who knowingly receives stolen property, has poor character, and I would say is NOT a good person. Advising him to avoid listing criminal associates is bad advice. It was not borrowed, BTW, it was stolen.
A mistake is putting on a tie with a spot on it. Stealing, drug use and drunk driving are NOT mistakes.
That said, the original poster has admitted he behaved in a criminal manner, admitted it was wrong, and is willing to put in the time to prove he has learned the error of his ways and learned better morals and changed himself.
He seems contrite and I believe him. I also believe with his attitude he is a good candidate.
Focusing on the present does nothing if he has not changed and cannot demonstrate continued proper behavior. I believe he has and is.
PS Siberian, just so you know I am not picking on you, I think this characterization is wrong also "it was stupidity and you understand it was a big mistake."
