I passed FTO! (St. Paul PD)

Hey all,

I completed my last day and phase four for FTO and passed! :D

Whew! It was tough, alot of work, things to learn and a rollercoaster of good/bad days.

I will no longer be a 'tango' (training) car, I will be solo starting April 25th!

I feel I can kinda breath a bit now :p

Do you mind writing about one of the bad days on FTO? I'm in the application process and the reasoning behind officers failing during FTO are never really expanded upon. I'm just curious about the FTO process and would like to know what consists of a bad day especially from someone who was good enough to make the cut.

Bad day in FTO, not knowing where you are, where others are, trying to tell your FTO you are right and they are wrong. That would constitute a bad day in my FTO program.

I never told my FTO I was right and he was wrong. That will get you axed fast!

Yes, you will make mistakes in FTO. The biggest thing is be assestive, learn from your mistakes and hump calls.

But by no means I am an expert in passing FTO, so take my advice with care.

We had a guy do that here on many occasions, on top of being incompetant. He lasted less than 6 months.

Again congrats! I recently finished FTO myself so I'm not in much a different spot than you! I still ask questions everyday I wonder are stupid, but they still answer without blinking.
