    Unhappy

Okay, I definetely see your point and I will make sure that I dont misconstrue the truth of the situation. I just want to explain what happened in the best way possible instead of making it sound as if I had expectations of that happening when I went out there you know. Yes, it happened and this isn't good no matter how you look at it, but if I can explain the incident in a mature manner, than I think it will greatly help me out. Is there anything else you can suggest to do or is it just going to be a game of luck, hard work, and odds being against me?

As already pointed out, you were a participant not a witness.

As for your hiring chances, sorry, no way in hell can I see any reputable dept touching you with a 10' pole.
Don't try and outweird me, I find weirder things than you in my breakfast burrito.

If this is true, why not apply to NM State Police. If they are willing to write a letter of recommendation regarding this incident, surely they would be the agency most willing to overlook it in the hiring process. Even if working for the NM State Police isn't your ultimate goal, it could help getting on with other departments if a LE agency (particularly a reputable one, as state agencies tend to be) has screened this matter and still hired you.

Unfortunetely, I would rather not move back to NM but I may have to if getting on with the State Police there is my only choice. I hate NM and always have and thats the reason I moved. Maybe a smaller agency in Arizona will consider me instead. I'm notworried about never getting hired, but rather just getting hired sooner. As the LVMPD told me, I just needed more time in between the arrest and the present, thats all. I guess I just need to keep a positive attitude like I said before and we'll see where it takes me.......I'm not ever going to just give up because of one background issue in which I wasnt even convicted and I still have clean record. Someone will hire me somewhere. If at first you dont succeed, pick yourself up and try again........

With a situation like this, I think them telling you to put more time between yourself and the incident is a nice way of saying "bugger off".

Maybe so, thats okay though because it will make me better for the place I actually do get hired on at. I just got off the phone with a relative who is a background investigator in Arizona and he told me tha as long as I was honest that he thinks they will hire me. He explained that it would be looked at but since I wasnt convicted that it shouldnt bog me down a lot. Hopefully with some thngs I do have going for me, I can get my foot in the door and do what I want at a later time.

Just so you know, in central AZ there are 100-150 people applying each month and departments are hiring 1-5 people. I don't know if this is everywhere right now, but it is tough in these parts. Good luck wherever you decide to look into.
There are no stupid questions, just very stupid people asking questions.

Well, I want to thnk you for your time and good insight on the issue. After speaking with my relative who works in Apache Junction,AZ I'm definetely going to try to get my foot in the door with his agency! I'm also just going to saturate the central area with apps and test everywhere I can no matter what the final outcome is. Thanks again guys.
