has anyone been hired with an inconclusive polygraph exam? The reason i ask is because i just got two inconclusives in a row. Any thoughts?

I am not an expert, but I have to assume that the agency would require you to take another test if they wanted to move you through the process. In order to move on one must pass the test, and you have not. I wish you the best of luck-I have taken two tests myself (results pending) and I don't want to take another one.
There are no stupid questions, just very stupid people asking questions.
Do you have any idea what is causing the results you are getting?

none. i showed "reactions" to like 5 questions. I felt confident and truthful when answering all of them. I really have no idea where the reactions are coming from and why there are so many.
Was it the same examiner both times? Inconclusive doesn't mean deceptive, so it's not like you failed the exam per se. If it was the same examiner, they should have had you go to a different one for the second.
I recently had a polygraph examination which consisted of two parts, criminal history and involvement with illegal substances. Following the exam, I was called back in a few days later because I showed inconclusive on substance history.
Long story short...
I took the exam again with a different examiner and he really broke down the questions. From my experience (not much), if you are just inconclusive they will work with you to get you through. Although, if you were to show deception or provide new information that you were hiding, I think they would just FAIL you and not take the time to re-test you. I am still on the recruit side of the LE fence and I do not know how many times they allow you to show inconclusive. I would say continue to be honest and hope for the best.
Good Luck Boss.
To any facing a similar situation, this is what might happen:
You get rejected. Good luck to all. Oh and they won't give you another shot even if you volunteer to retake the polygraph exam.
They DID give you another shot. You took it and got an inconclusive result. You were allowed to take it again, and got the same result.
