Did I overthink MTA police test and DQed myself?

Hey guys, I read on this forum that you have to be honest about everything when it comes to LE processing or it will bite you in the ***. On mta police test there were 2 parts multiple choice and psychological. They only give you 15 min for psychological and it is around 90 questions. I am worried now because I didn't know how to answer some questions but tried to be as honest as possible. Here is an example of the type of questions they had. "You always give your utter most attention to everybody", agree or disagree? Now, 90 percent of the time I do but not ALWAYS! I don't think anybody always does, so I put disagree. I am really worried now that I might have overanalyzed it and they will just think...." oh he doesn't pay attention to anybody....". Am I stressing too much? Another question was something like "have you ever been fired from a job?" I thought about it and thought to myself I better put something that would make me look worse than put something that I think might be right, but if its not, it would make me come off as a liar. Here is the thing, I was never fired, but I applpied for a job that had 6 month training program which was very competetive and some people scored better than I did on the tests. I basically went back to my old position within the company. Thing is people jump around different positions in my company all the time (I work for the MTA) and it is encouraged (everything is by seniority)but I'm not sure if they know it, and would look at that as a lie? Did I completely screw myself up by overanalyzing or did the right thing? Basically I picked the worst choice when I wasn't sure just so I would not come off as a liar. Since it was a scantron and a regular written test, I am hoping they just grade it and won't go by the answers too much on who to call and rather focus on pass or fail. I should be ok when it comes to BI or anything that they might look into in detail but I feel like I screwed myself up and won't get the call for processing based on my psychological answers on 15 min psychological part.

Now that i think about it, it is not even psychological but more like your work and life history. On top of that, i completely forgot that when you had to answer these questions you had only take in consideration the last 2 years. When i answered these questions i thought all the way back until i could remember. Once again...they have no idea of knowing that i forgot and went all the way back as far as i could remember. :(
I guess the more tests you take the more experienced you become at taking them.

Sorry for mistakes, I'm typing on a sidekick and my thoughts are all over the place as I'm typing this.

Well I work for the MTA right now so I guess they do. You are right though, they prefer blackbarrys with nextels lol

Seriously though, I don't think you understood my question. I'm not worried about being honest, I'm worried about overthinking simple questions and actually making myself look worse than I really am, by saying I don't ALWAYS give my utter most attention to EVERYBODY, although I do 90% of the time....which is not always though. Agh here I go again with it...

Every single officer I have talked to has told me that honesty is the most important aspect of getting hired (assuming you meet basic standards). I think a person would be hard pressed to actually answer YES to the question you brought up and have it be an honest answer. I would say you did the right thing, although I am just a guy trying to become a cop and certainly not an expert.
There are no stupid questions, just very stupid people asking questions.

Yeah, those questions everyone has to answer...and not just to become an officer. I have seen those questions many times before. I would just answer honestly. Think about it...how many people in this world give their highest attention to EVERYONE? No one does, of course.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

The question asked of you always gave 100% of your attention to everyone. You do not, so saying no would be the correct answer. Nothing to stress over. Any husband would have to answer the same if they were being truthful. ;)

The correct answer would be 'no'. It would appear that you never actually received the position you were applying/testing for.

On top of that, i completely forgot that when you had to answer these questions you had only take in consideration the last 2 years. When i answered these questions i thought all the way back until i could remember.

That would be an oops, likely due to stress. If you failed the testing process this time, just remember this the next time.

    Good luck.
