    Past residences

I'm applying to a couple of police departments here in TX. I'm still in college, and lived in an apartment with some friends over the summer. I was taking the place of a guy who was out of town for the summer, so I was not on the lease, and we never told the management that I was staying there instead of the guy who was out of town. I still paid my share of the rent. At the end of the summer, I moved back into the dorm. Will it look bad that I was staying in this apartment without being on the lease, and therefore without the knowledge of the management?

I know the background investigator will find out, because I had to put the office number of the complex on my personal history statement. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't see it as a problem We don't ask " were you on the lease at your apartment?" . We just want to know the history of where you have lived. I don't believe our det's interview landlords of an apt complex.

If asked, tell the truth but I bet this will not be asked.

Here a lease is a contractual issue with the apt. manager and the renter. It has nothing to do with your legal right concerning establishing residency.

It is no big deal.......don't sweat the small stuff. Just don't leave anything out.

Ditto. Put it down and don't worry about it...
