Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.
My new hero!
I do not see a problem with your arrest as long as you explain it the way you explained it here. The drug issue is also not a problem. The driving record is THE problem. The issue you have here is you applied to two departments that are EXTREMELY picky in who they hire. To be 100% honest I really don't see Nassau County picking you up right now. And I also see NYSP giving you a very hard time about your driving record. I see you are 29 years old and in 6 years your chances are 0% due to the max age requirement NYS has. I recommend trying coming on NYPD and if you do make it here and you list number for Nassau county is say in the 3 year range to be called at least you got NYPD under your belt and Nassau county LOVES picking up city cops. Good luck you seem like a stand up guy, just take the lead out of your shoe while driving and you should be ok.
NYPD the job that hates you back
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I said I would be back when I found out more information and can give you guys the heads-up. Well, I received my score on the ncpd test last week and I scored an 88. To my surprise, three days later I received a letter to report for my background investigation. A little background, in the time since I took the test I have been employed as a financial specialist for Wachovia and I am very happy. With that being said if I am offered the position in the NCPD I would jump at the opportunity. Is it normal to be called so quickly? You guys know my background, I hope I make the long journey and join the majority of you in the field trying to keep the streets safe. I'll be back when I find out more information, and again, thanks for all the information and feedback, hopefully this will be the start of a long career. Thanks
One more thing...I am a very clean cut man, wear a suit everyday to work, but I have a goatee. Its well kept and thin, I have had since I was able to walk I think. Would it be prudent to shave it before my BI interview? I am thinking so, just wanted some feedback on what would be in my best interest!
