Wow you got all the info in using just two sentences...amazing ;)

It all really depends on the department. What it does show is lack of responsiblity and could have an effect on you being hired. How long has it been since you got the whole situation taken care of and behind you.

    PS. Im not a cop.
Don't take life so seriously, you're not gonna get out of it alive anyway!

    Time is the key.
Proper use of puncuation is a close second.

It will not be a plus on your side but not necessarily an obstacle that can't be overcome. Hopefully, you have NOTHING else in your background that could cause you any problems.

Dumb blonde? Don't fall back on that excuse. Pay it when you get it, and there won't be a problem. By ignoring it, you are telling them it isn't really important.
I can't make heads or tails of this post as it is difficult to read, and I have a headache.

    Good luck anyway.

actually it was only one sentence because she used the periods to abbreviate the words license saturday and approximately which may cause a problem if a tac officer in the academy sees her write like this i didn't find it hard to read a matter of fact i found it really easy to read for some reason for my advice i would say try to get into the academy and if they bring it up stay away with the dumb blonde excuse because departments don't want dumb blondes running around the streets with guns and arrest powers

i was not being serious about the dumb blonde thing. it is a way i kinda just say things. i have to get away from that. But i moved here from a different state all this happened in a different state. the only other thing in my background was how i was abused by my ex. and that is it never been arrested or anything like that. i am from the south and we kinda crack jokes when we are worried stupid thing since i did that i am sorry.

That is just one aspect of your background. That alone should not (but you never know) be a disqualifying factor. Some areas are highly scrutinized, but they look at the overall package when deciding if your background is a reason to reject you.

Failing to pay tickets may lead the investigator to think about a few areas: immaturity, stupidity, or lack of respect for LE.

Our application process requires you to fill out the 10 page form in your own handwriting. I have no idea if you will have to do this but regardless, your usage on here of punctuation and sentence structure leaves some to be desired. Get someone else who is good at that sort of thing to proofread it before you submit it.

A lot of what an officer does is write reports.

    Thank You

I want to thank everyone for their input. I know how to write and things, but I do not take the time on a computer to write the correct way. I have wanted to be a police officer since the age of 11 and then after I went through alot of abuse I wanted it more then life itself. I really want to help people! I am a very nice person. I am not a bad person. I am not stupid. I really respect all law enforcement agents. If it would have not been for cops I would not be alive today. I know this for a fact. They saved my life do to the abuse from my ex.. I want this so bad and if I can not do this it will crush me. I have people standing behind me for the first time in my life. It took moving up here where I am now to get that and now I know I can do it, but I do not want to be scared that this is going to ruin my dreams. I really hope my writing is better this time and if anyone has anything to say to help me through this please give me your input. I am open to anything anyone has to say. With Deepest Thanks.

FYI - The cops didn't save your live. YOU did. The cops can't make you do anything that you aren't ready to do yourself. They may have assisted you, but it is your choice along whether to leave an abusive relationship. You are stronger than you realize.

first where in PA ...if the tickets are paid you should be okay. Im from PA (phila) and i had a speeding ticket that i paid late, my license was suspended for the 10 days it was due but i got it back as soon as the check cleared I haven't had any problems in any of my backgrounds..PA is horrible on keeping their records up to date so make sure you check your record yourself first so you know that it is accurate and up to date.

You say you want to get into the academy......how about getting hired first. This is a major hurdle you need to accomplish before anything else (unless you are paying for your own academy).

Getting hired is not easy............you need to be prepared for this process. Depending upon where you are and who you are applying to, the process can take up to a year after all testing is done.

    ok

First it was Tennessee. That is where I got all my tickets. I lived there all my life. I had to move and start a new life because of my ex-husband. Next, I am paying my own way through, but they ask for a 10 year driving record and that has me worried. Finally, I live in Harrisburg and I am going to go to H.A.C.C..
