    Updated Background

Its been about a year or so since i posted my last background, and i wanted to see what some of you thought.

    Age: 20 Years old

    The Good:
    - 40 Credits in Criminal Justice from Community College, working on getting Associates Degree
    - Volunteer Firefighter going on a year
    - Security Guard at a shopping mall for 2 years (Promoted to Assistant Director of Security)
    - 100 Hours of Internship at a local police department
    - Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
    - Excellent Credit
    - Never Been Arrested

    The Bad:

    Speeding Tickets:
October of 2006. (Going 55 in a 75 on a highway) **Paid it**

    Criminal Acts:
7 Years Old. I stole a pack of gum from a local super market.
9 Years Old. Opened up passenger door to mothers car and knocked off a side mirror of a nearby vehicle in a parking lot, didn't say anything to anyone.
10 Years Olds. I used to go around to houses for school and collect money by selling wrapping paper and things like that. I wasn't selling any at the time and i noticed my sister was. So i took her packet and went to collect money from a house down the street and got about $3.00. I felt so guilty about it that i brought the money back to the woman and told her we didn't need the money.

    Motor Vehicle Accidents:
Summer of 2003, tapped a vehicle infront of me causing very minor damage at about 2-3 MPH. (16 years old at the time, recently got license) We sat at the red light for about 10 seconds and I turned into gas station close by and was scared, knowing very well i had to wait for him but didn't want to obstruct traffic on the main road leading to the highway. I hoped he did not turn in with me, i was clearly horrified at the time as i have never had this type of experience before. He did not turn in at all, i waited in the gas station for about 2 minutes. 4 years later i looked up the law and it said the police should have been notified of the incident.

July 2006. Involved in a MVA on company property with a vehicle, hit a handicapped parking sign causing about $1000.00 worth of damage to the left quarter panel. No police report was filed, it went through the insurance company. I wasn't able to drive for a year, but a year later at this time i am now allowed to drive again.

June 2007. Most recently i backed up into my mothers vehicle, not seeing it there in our driveway. Very minor damage to her vehicle, my bumper had about a fist sized dent in it. She didn't really care too much of it. (Did not involve insurance company or make police report)

(The only thing listed on my driving history from the DMV is the ticket)

Pretty much i've learned from all my mistakes and i am just trying to do what i can to increase my chances of getting on.

Just want to see how my background compares to most applicants, Any feedback is welcomed.

Actually, I believe the value amount was under the reporting limits. It wasn't a government vehicle, no injuries and doesn't constitute hit and run (you were the hitter, after all). Therefore, I do not believe this is a reportable accident in the State of Arizona (although Cat_Doc busted my chops ;) for being wrong before).

Ever consider getting a chauffer (sp?)? :D

All in all, I do not see an issue. That and $5 will get you a large caramel frappachino at Starbucks.

So you're the little b&%tard I've been searching for since 1986!!! You owe me a new mirror.

I'm 6'4" and I can't count the number of plastic air conditioning vents I've shattered with my knee caps when people don't slide the seat back.

So am I alright then for the most part when it comes to competing against other candidates? I was told that putting space between MVA's often helps.

Speeding ticket ( I think you mean 75/55 ? ) A lone speeding ticket is something a LOT of people had/ have. A LOT.

7 year old gum thief ? Means Nothing.

9 year old mirror damage incident. Means Nothing.

10 year old con man. Means Nothing.

2003 Motor Vehicle accident. Very , very minor. Mention it but it is almost nothing.

Private Property crash to sign. No police involvement and I suspect the " no driving for a year " was a company imposed issue ?. Again , very, very minor but it is worth mentioning.

June 2007 hitting moms car. Private property accident involving MOMS car. No police report and I doubt one would apply even if there was more damage.

Again, very, very minor but since you have two others of this , I would mention it.

    Your good background is good.

Your "bad " background isn't bad. The speeding ticket is a very minor ding. The three minor accidents individually aren't much, collectively...they raise a slight eyebrow.

Just be very careful with your driving , look before you "leap" and you will be fine.

No one can answer that with any certainty because: (1) we don't know where you're applying and how many slots they have available, and (2) we don't know the full backgrounds of every other applicant who is applying there.

You won't get hired if you don't apply, so go ahead and apply. Your background isn't too shabby to let the chips fall where they may and give it your best shot.
