Its been about a year or so since i posted my last background, and i wanted to see what some of you thought.
Age: 20 Years old
The Good:
- 40 Credits in Criminal Justice from Community College, working on getting Associates Degree
- Volunteer Firefighter going on a year
- Security Guard at a shopping mall for 2 years (Promoted to Assistant Director of Security)
- 100 Hours of Internship at a local police department
- Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
- Excellent Credit
- Never Been Arrested
The Bad:
Speeding Tickets:
October of 2006. (Going 55 in a 75 on a highway) **Paid it**
Criminal Acts:
7 Years Old. I stole a pack of gum from a local super market.
9 Years Old. Opened up passenger door to mothers car and knocked off a side mirror of a nearby vehicle in a parking lot, didn't say anything to anyone.
10 Years Olds. I used to go around to houses for school and collect money by selling wrapping paper and things like that. I wasn't selling any at the time and i noticed my sister was. So i took her packet and went to collect money from a house down the street and got about $3.00. I felt so guilty about it that i brought the money back to the woman and told her we didn't need the money.
Motor Vehicle Accidents:
Summer of 2003, tapped a vehicle infront of me causing very minor damage at about 2-3 MPH. (16 years old at the time, recently got license) We sat at the red light for about 10 seconds and I turned into gas station close by and was scared, knowing very well i had to wait for him but didn't want to obstruct traffic on the main road leading to the highway. I hoped he did not turn in with me, i was clearly horrified at the time as i have never had this type of experience before. He did not turn in at all, i waited in the gas station for about 2 minutes. 4 years later i looked up the law and it said the police should have been notified of the incident.
July 2006. Involved in a MVA on company property with a vehicle, hit a handicapped parking sign causing about $1000.00 worth of damage to the left quarter panel. No police report was filed, it went through the insurance company. I wasn't able to drive for a year, but a year later at this time i am now allowed to drive again.
June 2007. Most recently i backed up into my mothers vehicle, not seeing it there in our driveway. Very minor damage to her vehicle, my bumper had about a fist sized dent in it. She didn't really care too much of it. (Did not involve insurance company or make police report)
(The only thing listed on my driving history from the DMV is the ticket)
Pretty much i've learned from all my mistakes and i am just trying to do what i can to increase my chances of getting on.
Just want to see how my background compares to most applicants, Any feedback is welcomed.
