    Called to Chief's Interview

    Hello all,
I just found this forum and decided to join. So here's the deal, I passed the written, oral, and background and just got a call from the department to interview with the chief next week. I have several friends and family members in law enforcement and they have said that this is a good sign if they are having me drive down (2 hour drive).

I just wanted to get your input. Maybe some help on what to expect. Any input would be appreciated.

Not to rain on your parade, but don't count yourself "in" just yet. I had a chief's interview with a department that I eventually got a "thanks, but no thanks" letter from. It's definitely a sign that they're interested in you if you've made it this far, but not a guarantee.

Go in, be confident, and tell them why you're the best applicant. Pretty much all you can do at this point, except hope for the best.

Every additional interview you get to is good but until you hear the words..." welcome to the department" , assume nothing.
