I'm currently #10 on the list of applicants that have gone through oral boards and drug testing to continue in the process for the HPD. This department is in such poor financial shape (as is the City of Htfd) that I understand the delay. However, they recently received Federal funding to put more LEOs on the city streets. There have been to date, 48 shootings this year in the city. They simply do not have enough LEOs on the streets to combat this problem.
Question: What the hell are they waiting for? I have been number 10 for almost a year now and I am willing to take a huge paycut from my current career to work for them. Mainly because this is a city that can use good cops that want to make a difference. A difference that would be tangible almost immediately in my view.
Simply wondering if others are experiencing this type of issue throughout the rest of the country.
