    Another newbee question!

I have heard so many horror stories, on this forum none the less, about polyrgaphs and VERY hard "boot" and so on, so forth! How hard is it really? I just got back from Iraq with 101 ABN DIV on a medical discharge...is that something I have to disclose when I go to the board? I did sign a paper that said to keep quiet for a minimum of 4 years about the specific of my discharge, what we did in Iraq/Kuwait and such...does that include police officers or are they exempt? I need to know simply because I do not want to get jacked at some poly just because I THINK I can not tell them...I want to be honest to make sure I pass and get hired!

Let me know where I can find this out and what laws this is under, if any at all?!?

Have a good one guys and hope to hear from you soon!

Depending on what your discharge was for, you may or may not have problems passing medical or physical screening. If there is something that you cannot revel due to classified nature, tell them that in exactly those terms. When I went through my background, poly and psych I had to tell them that I was unable to answer certain questions. It didn't hurt my standings. BTW, IMO, the background and poly I had to do for the PD were nothing compared to what I had to go through in the military for my clearance...

Have paperwork to document your "exception" to telling the truth and inform those who you are dealing with in advance. It is not good to spring this on someone during the hiring process or during a polygraph that " I can't answer that question because of national security..."

Thanx guys for the quick responces, I knew I could trust you!

You came to the same conclusion I did, pretty much, about the forms I had to sign on and about my discharge. I talked to the guys at the station and I told them what had happened: Everyone getting medivac from Operation Enduring Freedom had to sign the papers simply because the knowlege we have about the situation and operational plans and other military issues - there's still troops on the ground and letting some/any one know what and where they are is to jeopardize their situation even further. Iraq, along with every one else in the world has CNN and they watch it daily!!!

That, I think, should apply to the people who had to stay back here as well...If you or anyone you know has family and friends partake in OEF, be proud but not stupid - that is how the wrong people find out the right information!

    Have a good one guys...
