Oral Interview Score LAPD

Can anyone give me some input on my Oral Interview score for LAPD.. I scored a 95. I am just curious where this might place me on the eligibility list.

I got a 100 on it. They were talking with me fairly quickly, within about a week if I remember correctly.

What kinda questions do they ask?

Why I wanted to be a police officer, what has been the toughest decision I've had to make in my life so far, what I have done to prepare myself for a career in LE. Had to describe to them a situation where I had to overcome diversity. Asked how I related to people who worked with me and for me.

Those are the only ones I remember. The interview only took about 20 mins.

They want minorities in their department is what they mean.

In LA, they will hire minorities with lower scores than whites just to get them on the department. And by the way, I am not white, so I'm not some angry white guy. It's just the way it is.

I would have to agree with Rich... I know aquaintences of mine that scored below a 85 and got hired before myself. It isn't so much a quality person thing as it is a political thing.

Did you think though that they got hired for reasons other than just this one area? Just because you get a good mark on this doesn't mean you passed all the other aspects with flying colors.

I dont know about lapd, but the department I am applying for the oral board is scored 100%, every thing else, written and physical agility. is pass fail. Then your put on an eligiblity list based on your score and they pull from the top town. So they say, lol.

Well why have i not been hired yet. Im a minority and i scored a 100 on my oral. I applied way back in march. Ive heard all the "they want minority" BS and im still waiting. I have a college degree and a spotless background, passed every test and still no word. All this minority crap is pissing me off. If it were true i would be hired by now.

Right On Topcop24! I guess complaining just makes all of us feel better. On one hand the minorities complain that its "Who you know" that counts and on the other hand its the Non-minorities saying "Its the Minority Quota". Get in line and just wait your turn people!
