Unhappy Detention Officer Maricopa County, AZ

I'm an Italian girl, just got here in the US 5 months ago...
today I've completed all the process for a Detention Officer position at the Sheriff's Office...

I passed the polygraph, background and hopefully the psycho e medical...

I never used drugs, never got a traffic ticket, never got in trouble with the law I don't drink, I'm healty, and I can say that I've had a normal life so far.
I really want this job, but right now I'm worried..I guess is normal...

How many chance do you think I have to get hired?

There's any AZ Detention Officer in this forum?

Today I did the psycho, and they told me they will call me in 2 weeks to shedule an academy orientation.... if everything went well.....

Right now they're hiring like crazy here, so I hope I can get in...

    Any advice???

    thanks!!

Sounds like you are well on your way to being a Corrections/Detention officer. If you got that far, things will probably go well for you.

My advice is to keep at it and don't give up. Be upbeat about things, and try your hardest to be at the top of the crop.

I was going to go for my background interview, but was unable to because my car flipped and I have a broken jaw and my mouth is wired shut, but as soon as I'm better I'm going back for the interview. I have been an Volunteer for MCSO and know that there a great department, and you can't beat there pay, so stay with it, they most likely would have turn you down by now if there were any problems with you becoming an DO.

My mom has 19 years in with MCSO and is currently Intake at the 1st Avenue (I think) Jail. They used to do Intake at Madison, but moved it a block or so a couple of years ago. I never get the name right. Was there something in specific you were looking for?

Although it may help to be psycho in the job, the test you took is commonly referred to as the PSYCH (no O). ;)

Good luck and let me know if you want me to ask her something. Incidentally, if you got that far in testing, odds are good for being hired. There are really hard up.

That makes sense, now that I think about it. We drove down 1st Ave to drop her off at Madison. I was thinking Central, but that goes the wrong way. I have only dropped her off once at the new jail.
