Why do I need to get interviewed?

My husband applied for a Police Officer position and they called me(his wife) to come in for an interview. Why do I need to go in and what are they going to ask me?

    Thanks!

They are going to ask how much you support your husband's career attempt, how you will respond to shift work, not having holidays off, and how you respond to the high potential of violence being utilized against your husband.

Police departments do not relish breaking up a marriage, if they can help it. They want to know you support your husband and are prepared for the hardships.

They interviewed my wife and my neighbors. My wife had already dealt with my deployments, shift work, and potential for me to get hurt in the military. Nonetheless, law enforcement is a different animal and they wanted to know, among other things, if she was onboard with me and my decision.

My neighbors have told me that they were asked all sorts of questions that didn't fit into a behavioral description of me. Fortunately they answered NO to all that. :D

My BI flew 500 miles up to my small town, interviewed my family, neighbors, every school teacher and college professor I ever had, and all of my prior bosses and some former co-workers.
