    Family references?

The agency I am applying to wants references from non relatives. Is a wife, cousin, husband consider as a relative?
    Thanks.

You're related to that guy through marriage. I'd say find someone else.

Do you want to reference your wife's cousin's husband? Or all three? You may want to consider supervisors from past employment, friends from church/hobbies/work, etc...

    Lone Starr: What?
    Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. [1]
Lone Starr: What's that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing—which is what you are about to become.

Like Vengeance said, wife, cousin, husband, 2nd cousin aunts uncles are all relatives.
Use people that you know and also know you well. Friends, friends of your family, current or old boss and the such.

Thanks for the quick replies. I do now understand the relative thing. As for the former employers, the letter said I could not use them. I suppose I could use current employer or co-workers right? I think I should just call them to make sure about the employer. Thanks again for the help.

Try to get references who have known you for a while. If you have friends or professional contacts from activities/hobbies those would be good. Neighbors or coworkers who have known you for a long time.
